Modular homes are often a cheaper alternative to building a new home from the ground up. They often look just like a regular home. However, there have been many reported problems with modular homes. Some modular-home manufactures have slack standards and homes may fall apart quickly.
Contrary to what many people think, a modular home is not a mobile home. It is a home that is built in a factory and transported in large sections to the site to be put together. This requires special escorts, tolls and transportation fees.
Financing can sometimes be difficult to obtain. At times, the quality of the home is brought into question. Also, some banks or finance companies may view modular homes as personal property as opposed to a real property.
As builders, we are often asked to remedy the mistakes and poor building standards and have many stories to share. Have you come across problems with your modular home as well? Give us a call or contact our Panelized building team.
